The walls made of €poroton have a very good thermal resistance, an optimum thermal inertia and an adequate thermal conductivity which ensures a low energy consumption and low costs for the heating and cooling of buildings.
The attenuation of the noise outside the building is related to the deadweight of the exterior walls. The cellular structure and the estimable weight of the €poroton walls gives them better soundproofing properties.
The €poroton walls are permeable to water vapour. Condensation doesn’t appear neither on their interior nor on their exterior. The wall sweats and this influences in a positive way the environmental confort by providing an air having a relative optimum humidity for the human body.
Reaction to fire
High resistance to 180 minutes fire, for 12 cm thick walls place the €poroton blocks in the A1 fire safety class that is: they don’t burn, they don’t keep on the flame, do not emanate toxic gases in case of fire.
Being manufactured exclusively out of burnt clay one can say that the ceramic blocks are included in the construction materials with maximum biocompatibility, for the technical characteristics that they give to the wall: static stability, thermal stability, acoustic stability, higrometric resistance to fire.
Manufactured exclusively out of clay and sand, shaped, dried and burnt at 930°C, the €poroton blocks have a very good resistance to compression on the implementation place direction, that is on the cavities direction, a thing that gives to the buildings made out of this material time endurance.
